"Something to Remember Us"

Never forget... September 11, 2001
The 9-11 Remembrance Flag

The 9-11 Remembrance Flag was designed to honor and remember the thousands of heroes lost on September 11, 2001, who knowingly or not, gave up their lives for our freedom. When such an historical event takes place, it is our duty as American citizens to ensure that our future generations keep these memories alive... Not dwelling on the sadness and devastation that occurred, but learning from the circumstances and making every effort to prevent similar encounters in our future.

This Remembrance Flag is our way of keeping the events and lost lives of that tragic day alive forever. Whenever you display this flag, people will be reminded of the September 11th tragedy and all others relating to it. But, the greatest reminder will not be what the terrorists took from us that day rather how we all united together, physically, emotionally, monetarily and willingly... risking our lives, if necessary, for the freedom of our children and our children's children.

What the 9-11 Remembrance Flag represents:

• The red background of the flag symbolizes the lost lives and bloodshed of our fellow Americans... past present and future.

• The pentagon and two rectangles represent three of the most recognized structures ever built on U.S. soil. The Twin Towers may be out of sight, but never out of our minds.

• The stars symbolize the airplanes that were needlessly sacrificed on 9-11-2001. The star outside the pentagon represents the plane that was diverted by the brave passengers, saving hundreds of thousands of lives.

• The circle around the pentagon represents the unity that occurred after the tragedy. Instead of fear and helplessness, Americans united together to comfort grieving hearts and restore shattered dreams.

• The "GOD BLESS AMERICA" slogan has been adopted to represent the hope and faith of our nation... a reminder to the world that evil may pierce our hearts, but God's love permeates our souls.

What Happened?

What happened that September Day
We all struggle to understand
With grief and anguish in our hearts
Our country must take a stand

Soon the stars and stripes appear
on every home and car
A symbol of our strength and hope
As we prepare in war

As the flags grow scarce
We search far and wide
The need for "Old Glory"
To reflect our pride...

...Time goes on, months have passed
The wounds still fresh for many
The families of September 11th
Seek normalcy, if any

But wait, what's this, the stars and stripes
That once flew far and wide
So many have ripped and faded...
Have we forgotten about our pride?

I wonder what the families think
Old Glory now warn and tattered
As they pass those familiar homes and cars
The flag, once all that mattered

It makes me think about our nation
When I see flags so frayed
How soon we all forget the pain
Of that tragic September day

So let's think about those special heroes
Who lost their lives that day
And honor them with fitting flags
And for the families... Pray
